We are accessed by two public entrances one from South street close, the other larger main entrance on Abbey street has easier drop off areas for cars. All routes are wheelchair friendly. There are dedicated cycle routes in town and from Leuchars station. The theatre is situated within easy walking distance from local restaurants, hotels, beaches and parks. Both Dundee and Edinburgh airports offer direct bus services to St Andrews.

We offer limited general parking but two disabled spaces outside the Abbey Street entrance with easy drop off lay-by and two spaces on the South Street entrance but involves a short walk to the entrance.

Express services from Dundee (Route X54) and Edinburgh (Route X59) and extensive local network including Flexi Bus services
Train
Leuchars station (5.8 Miles away ), regular bus and taxi services join Leuchars station and St Andrews

Venue access information

The Byre incorporates a 216 seat auditorium, 100 seat studio theatre and room for 14 wheelchairs in Row K utilising flat floor access and removable seating. Full audio visual, theatrical and conference facilities on site. We have an overall capacity of 550 across all spaces. We are fully wifi capable using Eduroam and BT open zone hotspots.

Please note that both our venues offer a hearing loop system for every performance as required. Please ask at box-office upon arrival if you require a hearing loop pack if you do not have a compatible hearing aid.

We can also provide a relaxed meeting place with full restaurant, bar, and coffee shop, all with convenient opening times and late licences.
