We have a quiet area, communication cards and sensory items, including sensory backpacks, available. These are also available for visitors who take part in our other Science Festival workshops.
Our well-trained team are very happy to answer questions and do what they can to make all visitors feel welcome.
The door to the workshop space is kept open so visitors can come and go as they please.
Visitors are welcome to stay on after the workshops finish and explore the Museum while it is closed to the public.

Held in the Relaxed Space (Seminar Room 1). Reduced audience size and a shorter session. Seating can be on beanbags, the floor, or chairs. Audience can move about the space as they wish. Gentle lighting and no amplified noises. Hand dryers in the nearest toilets will be switched off.

This session is primarily for, but not limited to, families with autistic children; autistic young people and adults; adults living with dementia; adults and children with mental health problems; and any other visitors with sensory needs or who may prefer a more relaxed experience, plus their families, friends and carers. The Museum will open to the public from 10am for their regular Relaxed Morning with noisy interactives turned off where possible and a quiet space available.
